Polygons can be regular (a familiar shape that is usually symmetrical) like a triangle, circle, or octagon (like the stop sign shape seen above). or irregular (unfamiliar and non-symmetrical) like the shapes on the bottom row to the right. Notice the shape with 8 sides is also called an "octagon" even though is it a strange shape and non-symmetrical). |
